Hi! I'm Ruby (Kathy), creator of The Ruby Piano!
I believe that playing piano should be fun, and I strive to help you enjoy music!
I wanted nothing more than to play the piano when I was a child, but my baby brother had cancer and because of that I felt guilty even asking for money and time to be spent on an extracurricular activity. I ended up teaching myself how to play the piano. I went on to study music in college and earned my B.A. in Music and Master's Degree in Teaching, I know how to make learning incredibly easy for any beginner! My teaching skills combined with my love of music have led me on quest to help as many people as possible experience the joy of music.
I specialize in making music easy for beginners and created the viral genre of short form, vertical video piano tutorials with letters on Tiktok, Instagram, and Youtube. In 2019, I helped launch the Learn On Tiktok Program, which encourages fun, educational videos.
Today I teach Piano online to people all over the world, and I'm a Youtube Ambassador, Youtube Partner, Tiktok Partner, and Meta Partner with nearly 4 million followers on social media. I've helped millions of people all over the world play their first songs on piano, and I am excited and honored to help you do the same.
